Silently Spoken by Molly Jean McDonald

February 8, 2011

Molly Jean McDonald is an evolving artist in the world of contemporary art.  Raised in the land of the lakes, northern Minnesota, her work is stylistically diverse and is passionate about her exploration of a variety of mediums.  After completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Fine Arts at Montana State University last fall, Molly McDonald will be having her first solo show in the Strand Union Exit Gallery.  Molly’s show, Silently Spoken will consist of her most recent work with wooden frames and light.  Through the manipulation of her painting’s subtle surface, she is able to communicate through the molding of light, creating areas of space within the structure of the piece.  The opening reception will be held on Wednesday, February 16th, from 5-7:00pm at the Exit Gallery in the Strand Union Building.  Her work will remain in the space until the 28th of February.  So come drink some wine, eat some food and see a kickass show.  You don’t want to miss this!!!
